It was awarded a prize under the category "film dealing with education" at the TECHFILM festival in 2003 from the Czech Ministry of Education, Youth and Physical Training. The film also received a Diploma of honour at the 33rd edition of the Roshd International Film Festival in Iran.

The film may be viewed and downloaded from the EC audiovisual service or purchased in DVD format in 20 EU languages, free of charge, from the European Commission Cordis website on nanotechnology.

The installation consists of a projected video onto an eight feet wide circle of sand, evolving in scale from the molecular structure of a single grain of sand and back again to the mandala. These images were achieved with a scanning electron microscope (SEM). 

This work was inspired by ancient Eastern traditions and aims to illustrate how cultures make use of bottom-up building practices to create a complex picture of the world from extremely different prespectives.]]>

"Nano" components were designed to provide visitors with an immersion of sensory modes and fluctuations in scale up to a billionth of a meter, which are characteristic of nanoscience. Visitors are encouraged to participate in artistic creations of their own through activities that provide them with a feeling similar to that of manipulating atoms.

Their website contains with resources for teachers, as well as activities and videos on experiments related to nanotechnologies. 

It also includes information about NanoVenture, a board game on nanotechnologies, and the booklet Explore the Nanoworld with Lego Bricks to show how various physical and chemical principles related to nanoscale science can be demonstrated with LEGO® models.
